GAIL P GUY - Head of Chancery / Ag High Commissioner

As Head of Chancery Ms. Guy is responsible for the administration and management of the office and its staff. As acting High Commissioner, Ms. Guy's responsibilities are mainly representational at meetings, conferences etc. to which the head of mission is invited and ensuring appropriate reports and information are sent to the relevant agencies in Trinidad and Tobago and Trinidad and Tobago Missions abroad.

Defence Attaché

• Liaise with the principal training agencies/institutions
• Liaise with the Ministry of Defence to facilitate knowledge transfer
• Encourage and facilitate visits from high level Defence Officials to Defence and Security agencies
• Facilitate relationship wit the Defence Force and agencies involved in defence sales and procurement
• Monitor and assess Defence development and decisions
• Liaise with appropriate agencies to facilitate information sharing particularly in the fight against the narcotic trade
• Keep the Chief of the Defence Staff abreast of relevant developments

NIRMAL BHAGGAN – Immigration Attaché

• Consular & Immigration matters and staff training in these areas

• Organise and host receptions, at the Mission and/or other venues, in order to commemorate Trinidad and Tobago national events, such as - Spiritual Shouter Baptist Liberation Day, Indian Arrival Day, Emancipation Day, Independence Day, Republic Day, Chinese Arrival, Divali and Eid
• Assist in cultural exchange programmes
• Establish and maintain links with Culture Attaches at other High Commissions and Embassies in the United Kingdom and accredited areas
• Provide general information to the public and interested parties via the Mission’s website, press releases and written and spoken correspondences
• Provide public awareness on Government initiatives emanating from Trinidad and Tobago and the High Commission in London
• Interact with national groups in Germany, Sweden, Norway and Denmark to promote Trinidad and Tobago
• Host meetings with nationals of Trinidad and Tobago residing in the United Kingdom
• Publish and disseminate monthly Newsletters, known as the London Mission, to nationals and non-nationals, international organisations, United Kingdom and Trinidad and Tobago Government Officials and members of the media
